YMM aT LaTA BeReMBuN

Sometime, be a participant is better than an organizer......
As a leader of YMM Jenjarom, it is hardly for me to say no to involve in any event or pragramme organized by YMM Jenjarom......

But this time, i choose to be a participant instead of play any important role in the event planning......

WHY??

1. I am very busy recently and find no time to involve in any 'extra' activity...

2. Lets other members especially new comers to involve more and be more independent in learning how to be an event planner..

3. Seek for potential leader to lead YMM jenjarom in the future...

31/05/2007, Saturday, was the date we departed from Jenjarom to our ultimate destination.... Lata Berembun, 白叶山

a very nice place which located out of the way in KG. Sg. Klau Pahang Darul Makmur (I don't know about it until check it online).

The whole journey only takes 3 hours from Jenjarom, where pass throught highway, town area, village, rubber estate and palm oil estate. Along the journey, we had our enjoyable time to chat around, share gossips, talk about the past with 'long time no see' friends in the bus.

Before we reach our destination, i had really no idea on what will happen next.....but i know this trip will turn out to be a good one!!

Our bus drop us at a car park where we saw our 4 wheel drives waiting for us......Wihout any delay, we upload our belongings onto the car and ready for the 2WD adventure....Riding on the 4WD is really amazing and unforgetable...The ride was extremely bumpy. For a few time, i thought the 4WD was going to overturn, but amazingly it did not and went through many obstacles such as river, hillock, slushy and winding road!

Once we reached Lata Berembun waterfalls, we walked about 5 minutes to the base camp and pitched tents. After settle ourself down, we started the short trek up to the other waterfall uphill lead by three professional guides. Along the way, lot of leeches attack us and make us busy to fling it off. Anyhow, the environment and the water at Lata Berembun are very cool.

After the trek, it was dinner time!! some people were start to prepare dinner which was maggie mee goreng while others were taking bath. Ha!! My first time to be a chef!! We enjoy our outdoor dinner so much....Because we were so hungry after a few hours jungle trekking!!Hey! Guy, what are you looking?? Taking group photo is a 'MUST' to prove we and YMM Jenjarom been here at 30/05/08-01/06/08!!
We really had our enjoyable time here.... especially comes to the last day where we were about to leave the place... We sing together, play together and share our joy together!! They are my members who share the 4WD fiery challenge on the way back !!

2008 ChiNeSE BoOkFeST @ MaLaYSiA

One month ago.....

I have seen the advestisment about this Bookfest at KLCC convention center in the newspaper

I marked the date in my diary......

Because I don't want to miss it....(I am crazy for book, right??)

Went there on 25/05/2008 with ChinYee ( a friend of mine who also a book lover)
As usual, we need to pay RM2 each for entrance ticket.....

Hall 1 was mainly sold English books and stationary......

Without wasting our precious time, we proceed to Hall 2-5 quickly, where mainly sold chinese books from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia. It was so crowded, especially the Chinese Books from China section (Maybe due to books from China sold in cheaper price).

So, if you are looking for cheap books, you should go for china books where the quality of the paper maybe a bit poor.

In contrast, if you wish to get some good quality books, Taiwan's books are your choice.

Just within one hour, I manged to find a lot of books (with amazing price)!!

Let see how many books I bought......

Time flies toooooo fast.....

I think it was about three or four years we didn't see each other after graduated...

Not much change physically...

And how about our friendship??

I wonder has our friendship change anyway??

When i reached there....

I was quite worried

because i feel so strange and speechless when i met them...

but the moment i saw everyone
they instantenously gave me the warmest smile ever....
and so we talk and talk from first dish till the end...

After a long long time waiting......

Finally i get the Gua Tempurung trip's photos!!
We are so excited before our adventurous journey in Gua Tempurung

Feel like i am enjoying the tranquility of rural village lifestyles!! Map that shows the route in the cave (We choose the longest and adventurous tract!!) The entrance into the cave!!Not forget to snap some group pictures in the cave.....Largest natural limestone structure in Malaysia.... So now you can understand how we get wet??? Finally, we reached the end of the route which is open end to another side of the cave......

However, our journey was not end yet....

We still need to follow the same route bact to the entrance!! :(

This picture make me think about the primitive societies or human that live here hundred thousand years ago...
How was their lifestyle.... how they hunt for food.... cook their food.....!!

DoNg ZeN TeMpLe WeSaK DaY PaRaDe

已经不清楚这是第几次参与由仁嘉隆东禅寺举行的佛祖出巡花车游行。

但对于去年参与这项活动还记忆犹新。。。

今年2008年，当然也不例外。。。

周日傍晚特地抽空时间代表仁嘉隆青运支会应邀参与这项为迎接卫塞节佛陀日所主办的活动。

在这里我想先声明：我并不是佛教徒！但不排斥参与各类型与宗教有关的活动。

当天场面十分热闹，上千名的信徒参与遊行活动，十分温馨祥和。

佛祖花车所经之处，吸引众多民众争睹佛祖风采。

有人手掌合十，虔誠敬拜；有人站在远处，静静观望。

法师在花车上沿途向居民洒淨，把祝福献給大家。（但我没被喷到！）
8公里的路程在有说有笑的情况下很快就到达了终点。

回到家，累了，很快就睡了！

AfTeR HiKiNG --- VerY tiRinG

Just after the tiring Mt. Nuang hiking......

My schedule for today was not end yet!! OMG!!

I still have to attend my cousin's wedding dinner.....

Without any delay, my dear and i were getting ourself prepared just after reached home.

Rush to the restaurant and found both of us were so tired and weary.

Nine hours mountain hiking really fagged me out!!

See!!how tired are we when we reached the restaurant.... :(

GuNunG NuAnG Hi'KiNg'

"No next time..... really really no next time......!!"

This is what i said to myself when i reached 'kaki bukit' of Gunung Nuang after the summit hike.....

"You better start to train before hiking Mt Kinabalu" warned by dear.

So i decided do this---- Hiking Gunung Nuang (tallest mountain in Selangor, 1490km).

As a first timer, i have no idea on the challege that i may enconter or how tough for me to climb up to the peak...

So, without any preparation, we start our hiking with 'full-bar' energy from the starting point to point A.....

This is a long ghastly walk with ups and downs, muddy roads, rocky roads, red soil roads or the road filled with loose gravels.

After a tiring long walk, we reached point A and saw a 'pondok' where i took the opportunity to take a rest. Snap some photos and continue our journey into the real challenge. We follow the path into the forest cross a stream and follow along the road mark on the trees. From here, i start to panic with my inedequate shoes that made me hard to walk or climb.... Besides, it also giving me blisters every where.... Sigh!! My cousins move along the path with some minor runs up while i choose to walk slow and steady. The trail to the peak was quite tough, we have to always keep our eyes on the next step due to the uneven and wet path that full with rocks, roots and loose soil.
After pushing ourself physically and mentally across a few stream, we reach a place known as Pacat camp. I took some rest here while my cousins continue heading toward the peak.
Due to the time constrain, i forced to continue the hiking before my energy recovered.

Without wasting any time, I pushed on to the summit trail and my stupid shoes are going to kill me now!! It makes me even harder to climb up with the pain on both legs. However, there are many sights along this trail that may distract your focus on the pain, such as the green and white algae or fungus, fallen trees that block the passage way, weird flowers, interesting plants and insects like gaint ants, millipedes and leaches.

Heading toward the peak, i found myself struggled with the difficult terrain. I thought of gave up and stop here because i was too far behind my accompanier and my legs were so pain.
Luckily my mental was still strong enough to support me to move on.
Some parts of the path is very steep (about 80 degrees climb up). Therefore, we have to haul ourself up and keep on moving. The elevation has went up tremendously when we were approaching the summit. The air become colder, and mistier. A couple of minutes later, I finally realize I was at the peak when my cousins yelled that i am almost reach the summit. Hurray!! I had truly conquered the peak.
I quickly dropped my bag and ploped down on the floor.
Feels really exhausted but great to rest my feet!
The view at the top was very disappointing which covered with shrubs and bushes.
We can't get any good view of the surroundings from the summit.
The mist is pretty thick and the weather is very cold especially when the wind blows.
We rested for around 15 minutes before descending. My cousins were practically running down the slopes but i was walking down step by step because my legs muscle were cramped.
Climbing downhill was not as easy as I thought because tired legs makes this stretch of road ten times more difficult.
After climbing downhill from the peak for about 4 hours , I finally reached the carpark......
But the time was already 5 pm when we finally drove off from Mt. Nuang. Anywhere, I was glad that I manage to reach the summit. It felt great!


**I'm going to climb Mt Kinabalu next month.....
My friend, John who was just came back from Kinabalu said the scenic at the peak was really nice, unlike Gunung Nuang, nothing to see but trees......
Looking forward to see the nice view there......

Grown up in a very tradition Malaysian Chinese family...

actually i'm quite shy to say "i love you" to my mum or express my thankful to her.

All i can do is,treat her nicely and make her proud to have me as her son.....

No special celebration on that day.......

Nothing was planned until dear called me and suggest to buy a cake to mum.......

It is great to have you as my mama!!

阿嫲。。。妳是合格地球人耶！！

“你可以为地球做些什么？”友人突然问道。

一脸错愕的我望着他。。。没有发出任何声音。。。

“哎呀！今天是地球日啦，你今天可以为地球做些什么？”

“哦！竟然有这样的节日。。。Em.....那么我就在今天少吸一口氧气，或少排放一点二氧化碳咯！”

你呢？你能为地球做些什么？

怎样才能成为一个合格的地球人？

空气污染，土地污染，温室效应，酸雨等等等的环境问题在近几年来都得到很多关注。

我们更可在报章，电视及杂志上看到有关环境污染的报道。。。

但究竟有多少人可以认认真真反省及帮忙解决这个问题？

我？不能吧！我没有再循环铝罐的习惯，也我没有废物利用的美德，我不能不开车，更不能没有冷气。。。

写到这里令我想起我的阿嫲。。。

一位十分朴素及节俭的老人...她是一位合格的地球人！！为何？

阿嫲有自己种菜及养鸡的习惯

阿嫲有回收铝罐，塑胶罐，报纸，纸皮，纸张的习惯

阿嫲只踏脚车

阿嫲不需要冷气

阿嫲吃隔夜饭

阿嫲的衣服补了又补

。。。。。

佩服了吧！！

星期天到她家发现阿嫲的小小“菜园”--其实阿嫲家没有多余的空地，她充分的利用空间，把菜都种在盆里。。。

注意盆上挂着的东西。。。那可是用来恐吓或驱赶小鸟的。。。厉害吧？
阿嫲连小小的空间都不放过。妳也可真行！！100分地球人！！

GuA TeMpuRunG TRiP

I am waiting…. waiting….. and waiting…..
Waiting for Chin Yee to send me the photos we took during our Gua Tempurung trip….

(writing without photo is quite hard for me to give you a clear story because my writing skill is not good…..)
I really can’t wait anymore…. So decided to blog it first while waiting for the photos

Gua Tempurung…. A famous place that I never thought to visit to…. Until this year CNY, Chin Yee visited me and invited me to join him and his colleague to Gua Tempurung……After some discussion made between me and dear….. (because dear been there long time ago and not really show interest on this outdoor activities…. And me….. having many thoughts on how to arrange my time on that day due to three tuition classes that I had to conduct…..)… However… finally we made it and what I can say is: “I am totally not regret on the decision we made and feel so lucky to join them…. This trip was fun and challenging to me.”
Wake up early in the morning around 5am and drove to fetch dear, then meet up others friends at Restoran Jejantas Sg. Buluh and took a KFC breakfast before heading toward our destination- Gua Tempurung.

(It can be reached from North-South highway by exiting through Gopeng interchange. There are enough directional signboards that lead us to the caves.)
We Reached Gua Tempurung earlier than expected……Guess…What we did while waiting for the ticketing counter start to operate???

We took the Grand Tour which cost us RM20 each and the whole journey took about three and half hours. Since I have no pictures with me yet, I will just briefly highlight some special stuff that we did inside Gua Tempurung.
First of all we had to wade through the underground river system where we had to crawl through the water and keeping the heads down from one cave to another. Crawling was not tough for me but crawl in the sands and water and big stones was really a tough challenge….
Another challenge in the cave was the sliding stone where we need to slide down from a very tall steep stone to the ground without the assistant of any tools….. Quite challenging and you must try it yourself as you go there!!
Right after the sliding stone, we were ask to squeeze our body (or jump) into a small hole to the bottom level of the cave. It was quite dangerous actually but with the assistant from the ranger at the bottom level, all of us reach the bottom level safely.
At some point, we were turn off our torchlight and a total and complete darkness came over us. (真是伸手不见五指！！)
We walk, crawl, on land, and in water for about three hours before we reached at the end of the river system. The path of the river system was joining to a wide open cave where there were walking path and bridges built. This walking path was then bring us back to the entrance of the Gua Tempurung.
Advice for those who plan to go there….
1. Don’t bring camera into the cave unless your camera is water proof one.
2. Don’t bring anything because it will burden you.
3. Don’t wear bright colour shirts, pants, and underwear because they will turn into other color due to the clay and brown water in the cave.
