云游记

This is the first local outing after our wedding.
We went up to Genting Highland during the weekend holiday.
Genting highland is the place always in dear's place to go list.
I think she was excited of what's in for her up at the highlands, and wanting to try everything out specially have a cup of coffee at starbuck!
Hang there with a bunch of friends for one night and doing nothing but take photos.
Our plan to watch a movie was changed to just hanging out indoor. Walk blindly in the First World Plaza and amaze with the festive decoration around there.

we were enveloped with the cool mountain air.
The wind at this elevation was brisk, and fog swirls all around us.
This is the very good time to sit down and have a cup of hot drink.

PorT DiCkSOn aNd MeLaCca TriP

This weekend was nice as I was able to have a gateway from work.
This Port Dickson trip was decided in the very last minute as someone volunteer to wait until my tuition class finish and fetch me there...
So i don't need to drive and just stay relax on the whole journey...

As I reach the place, I met quite a number of new faces (Strangers)...
Can't really remember their names.
but anyhow, my aim was not to make friend there.
I just want to relax and have a peace of mind.

After check in the apartment and settle our belongings,
we went to the beach nearby....
Once there, we were greeted by the warm blue skies, the beach and the nasty hot weather.
It wasn’t a surprise that the seawater was just horrible to say the least..
It was polluted by the rubbish and not clear at all....
I decided not to play with the seawater...and just walk slowly alone along the beach...(Sounds like so antisocial....Haha)
Kick some sand and pick up some shells for memories.
I just love it. Enjoying reading at this place and manage to finish the whole book .....
Enjoying the slow pace of life, simply relax and be carefree...

The next day we went to Melaka Jonker's street before back home.
Melaka is a great place to have a short escape.
You can have heritage, food and shopping here!
Jonker street is culturally attractive and shopping paradise especially for those who love the artistic stuffs.
*A warm Reminder: do apply sunblock lotion and take necessary pre-cautions to deal with the heat in Malacca...It is terribly hot...

It is also a food heaven and we ate quite a lot here.
Chicken rice...Chendol....Ice Cream...Pineaple tart...
What a great weekend!

My FirSt TasTe oF 'SpaNisH' CuiSinE

My day was started with a long journey to the lab (as usual with my sleepy mood)......
After some labwork (around 3pm), I went to The Mines for the book fair to hunt some books.

Leave the book fair around 7pm and headed to USJ9 for my belated birthday celebration with MUST gang.
This time, we are dining at a Spanish restaurant--La Cocina. (Thanks to TingJie for her recommendation)

This would be my first experience of genuine Spanish food in my life!
La Cocina is a quaint little restaurant with its warm decor of brown wood and yellow painted wall. I likes the posters and pictures hanging on the wall and impressed by the cosy relaxed atmosphere of the place with Spanish music plays in the background.

I learn a new word here- Tapas (Spanish Appetizer).
Here, they served a range of Tapas which we ordered.....
Button Mushroom in Cream Sauce which serve with bread and fresh crab croquette (taste like mashed potato mixed with crab)...
What a nice starter!!

The main course that we ordered were:
Paellas Negres (Spanish rice cooked in black squid ink with some seafoods)
Pollo Con Salsa De Crema (Chicken Pieces In Creamy Mushroom Sauce)
Fettucine Carbonara with Chicken Cubes (this is an Intalian food if im not mistaken)

Negras (Picture taken from kyspeaks.com)

After the main course, we still manage to take in 1/2 dozen of spicy chicken wings and a desert (Caramelised Rich Custard).

So surprise to hear the birthday song (spanish version) played by the restaurant for me with a small cake served by the waiter...I am really touched!!
Thanks to you guys!!

Overall, the food was great especially the Paellas...
My first visit here certainly won’t be my last!
Lovely food, great service and reasonable price make this Spanish restaurant a must to visit again.

IroNmAn Me......

My Saturday was started from 8.30am by having 3 tuition classes back to back until late afternoon....

Not later than 5pm, I was on my way to PJ for dinner.
The dinner was arranged for Dear by two of our senior for her early birthday celebration.
(Initially it was also planned for another friend, Huili which she can't make it in the very last minute)
This time, Dear decided to try Korean food.. Can't recall what is the name for the restaurant we dine-in.....
But I was impressed by the tatami style dining environment!
Korean food for me is all about bbq......kimchii.....and ginsheng!!
(This was my very first taste in a 'proper' korean restaurant)

Korean restaurant normally provide a variety of pickle-thingy or some veggie in many many small plates.....(free adds-on stuff to our main-courses)
All this is very appetising....
We ordered marinaded chicken and pork BBQ, korean style stone bowl mix-rice (Bibim Bap) and korean spicy chicken soup.....Korean foods are hot and spicy......
However, it is not that oily compared to Malaysians' food......
And I really enjoy it!
Yeah! I can stand with Kimchi!! (Not that bad as i thought)
Dear with her 'piece of cake'!!
After the dinner, I went back to Jenjarom for another party
(YMM Jenjarom celebration party fro achiements gained)......
BBQ again......
But this time was local style!!I am not joining them in playing games......
(I had to admit that I am no longer young to join them) Ha!Ha!
But I do enjoy chit chatting with some friends......

Finally, laid on my bed at about 1am..... Feel so tired and sleepy!!

GeT awAy On MiNi VaCaTion

Location: Cameron Highland, Pahang
Date: 13rd September 2009- 14th September 2009
This vacation was just in the right time where I can relax myseft......
And escape from the heavy workloads......
Too many jobs come together and each told me to put them at priority!
Sigh!

Forget about all those annoying stuff....
I started my journey to Cameron Highland with Dear and her family......

Cameron Highland (not new to me as I been there before)
One of the Malaysia most attractive tourist spot with its unique cool climate weather and its lush greenery montane jungle forest.
Apart from tourist spot, this serene highland is still a farming community.
We have a chance to visit tea plantation, vegetable farm, flower valley and not to miss the strawberry farm. (Thanks to 杨先生夫妇和他们的仔仔 for their warm welcome and hospitality)
Standing high on the hill, you can feel the gentle breeze on your face.
I love the environment and the breathtaking scenery. You can see flowers everywhere in this place......Nice!

Strawberry farm (you can pluck the strawberry yourself, but of course you need to pay) Veggie farm with variety of vegetables...... cabbages, brocoli, cauliflowers, tomatoes, legumes, sweet corns, spinach.......and all you can name it! Hydroponic salad crops are placed in the greenhouse!

Greentea maze at Cameron Highland. This place was owesome and have a very nice view. Finally, a group photo and its time to say bye bye to Cameron!

Bukit Gasing

My GoPenG HoLiDaY (01/05/09)

1/5/2009--Labour day
It supposes to be a holiday for me to take a good rest at home, but I decided to spend the time (2 days 1 night) with dear and friends. Wake up early in the morning and left Jenjarom to meet up other friends before depart to Gopeng for white water rafting.
We took about 2 hours to reach Gopeng town and drive for another 6km to reach our final destination- My Gopeng Resort.
Upon arrival, we were briefing by the resort owner and took our lunch at the canteen. Our resthouse is a basic bamboo hut built in traditional style. Mattresses and pillows were the only furniture in the resthouse.

Our first activity was white water rafting on the Kampar River. Each of us was equipped with a life jacket, a helmet and a paddle. The resort owner introduced us an instructor who will guide us along the activity. The instructor brief us some safety issues and basic techniques (paddling command and paddling skill) before going down the river. White water rafting was fun especially when we started jumping into the water and going on the rapids. We really had our enjoyable time during rafting. The most unforgettable part in this raft tour was the moment our raft capsized and plays water fighting with our fellow rafters. I am not a water person. Therefore, I felt so excited and challenged when I fell and sank into the water. Anyway, this is a really good experience for me.
After completed the mission, we all sat at the back of an open truck and driven back to the resort. This was my first time being ‘delivered’ in such a way.
Back to our resthouse, some of our gang decided to have their own activity around the resort while others (including me) decided to play ‘hamster ball’……(How to play?) See the picture below:
It was really hard to balance ourselves in the ‘ball’. I really tried hard to stand up but I failed to do so. Anyway, it’s quite fun!
The heavy rain in the evening spoiled our plan at night because we had to cancel our jungle night walk. Therefore, we had plenty time to kill at night. After the steamboat dinner, I choose to walk around the resort and chit-chatting with dear and friends.
In short, I’m quite glad that I’ve experienced the water rafting.
